Need for Snead

Su, Jacob, and I enjoyed a nice trip to the Raymond house for the Ole Miss game. Beau and Su are old high school friends; he's also a co-worker of mine at Merrill Lynch. We have gotten to be good friends since my career change. Beau and Heather are great people and were nice to have Jevan.....I mean Jacob Snead over for his first "real" football game. I do not count last year while I held him in my arms sleeping and watched the games standing up from about three feet from the television. I disgress, young Jack and Carter (pictured below) have been excited all week about welcoming "baby" Jacob over for the game.

Jacob is proudly sporting his blue Jevan jersey today. Yes, he's got a Red Jevan jersey as well, which I'm sure will come out as the season goes on.

Random Pictures

Here are some of the pictures I promised earlier this week. My favorite is the one of him sitting on the white couch. This is our brand new couch that Suzanne has wanted for a couple of years. She has been proclaiming to anyone who will listen that Jacob, George, and I will NEVER sit on the couch and dirty it up. Well, guess who was first to sit on the couch! I have yet to try my luck, though (brownie points.)

Also, you will notice a lot of pointing. Jacob points at everything these days and says "Da...da." We used to think he was saying my name but have since figured it out. He's likely saying "that...that," due to us always asking him "Who is that?" or "What is that?"

First Day of School

It was an emotional day in the Brister household for one certain little fella went to his first day of school today. Of course, I wasn't very emotional, considering I leave him five days a week. However, today was one of the first times (if not THE first) Jacob has been left was virtual unknown people. Su, myself, or one of the Heberts has generally been around. By all accounts, Jacob did very well today and enjoyed himself. Mommy shed a few tears but I was proud of her too! Here is a shot I took just before school.

 

I did not think we had taken many good pictures recently...but I was wrong. I'll have to get some of those on here this week.

Play Ball!

I would love to tell you all that every child at the Merrill Lynch softball game is riveted by the play on the field...but I have a feeling the fact that most of the children are looking that way is purely coincidental. Nevertheless, we enjoyed having the Parnell kids and Myrt for our season finale this past weekend. Su says Jacob was more interested in eating rocks than watching his father on the mound!

If you're looking for an exciting play-by-play to the game...there's not one. It ended in an 8-8 tie!

Jacob took a couple of full fledge steps toward daddy and then toward mommy tonight! I hope this is the start of good things to come. Jacob starts "school" a week from Wednesday and we would both feel relieved to know he is walking by that point! I promise to have a new video posted in the next day or two once I can get the time to upload it.
