Merry Christmas!

Tonight was an annual Christmas tradition; Hebert Feast Pt. 1. One of my father-in-law's favorite traditions is to treat the entire family to a very nice restaurant about 30 miles east of Mandeville called La Provence. It is always good; good times as well. Several pictures were taken throughout this Christmas Eve night but I thought I would pay special attention to those who don't make the blog often....

Breakfast with Santa

Jacob's grandmother Nana treated the little fella and his mommy to "breakfast with Santa" this morning at the local country club. Jacob seemed a little unphased by St. Nick but always enjoys the company of his Nana, as well as his friends Nicole and Elise Parnell and Aimee and Mitchell Plauche.

Banana's Brister

 

A couple of weeks ago, rice cereal was introduced into Jacob's life, shortly followed by peaches and bananas, which were obviously more pleasing to his tastebuds. Five months old today, our boy is growing up!

Whoa! Snow!

Well, I never would've thought when I moved to South Louisiana that I'd experience a major snowfall before a minor hurricane...but that's the case. Believe it or not, friends who live in nearby Madisonville (about 10 miles away max) reported EIGHT INCHES!!! I'd say we got two or three in Mandeville which was enough for the whole family to have a bit of fun (me more than the other Bristers as you can tell I am the only one involved with most of these pictures.)

 

 

 

 

Christmas shoot

Here are a few samples of a photoshoot we did of Jacob last weekend. This is one of his many "Christmas" outfits and it will be featured in the holiday cards we send out. Hope everyone is having a great holiday. I will make time soon to post some of what's been going on in our lives.

 

 

 

 

Turkeys

A very enjoyable trip to Grenada/Oxford this Thanksgiving with the pictures to prove it.

Jacob's Baptism

This past weekend was a very busy one but well worth it. Jacob was baptised in front of much of his family and friends. We were fortunate to have his godfather, Chuck Sherman, in town. Chuck is one of my very good friends from college. Godmother, KK Hebert, was in attendance as well. We also finally got a picture of Jacob with his great grandmother, Gigi. I have lastly decided that you will not see another picture of me until I drop about 20 pounds!

Winter Model

I am thinking about sending these photos to Abercrombie & Fitch or somebody. This kid has "model" written all over him. He knows how to be silly, serious, stylish, sassy, and sultry...all at the right time. Oh yeah!!!

Remember when I posted this picture of Jacob taking his first bath???My...how times have changed!!!

Crib critter

Young Jacob has been in his crib for about a month now. He still has not learned the joy of a full night's sleep. However, it's pretty hard to get mad at him, even at 2AM, when he's talking loudly. This is the image (through hidden security video) we have become accustomed to seeing at all hours of the night.

Suzanne and I agree that he looks like a little raccoon looking through a window for a scrap of food!

Drool Rules

No, that's not Rocky Balboa you see flying through the air. Formerly of "Grumpy Pumpkin" fame, it's regular old happy-again Jacob. He has become drool happy as of late. And we are enjoying every sloppy minute.

Little Pumpkin Patch

Here are a couple of shots of Jacob The Grumpy Pumpkin. He has a nose full of boogies which makes it difficult for him to enjoy himself, even surrounded by candy and a victorious football team! Thanks to Nicole Parnell for the pictures and thanks to my Granny McMaster for making a FANTASTIC first costume!!!

I promised new pictures of Jacob. He went to his first birthday party this weekend and I managed to get a few in of him and his mommy.

Wow...

I do have new Jacob pictures to share but tonight I have (via Suzanne) discovered something very powerful. Su was watching Oprah today and there was a feature on a young couple who had a child two years ago with Triscenomy 18. Below is a small piece of Eliot's story. I must warn you...you will not make it 45 seconds without crying. If you watch it twice, you will cry harder. However, I assure you the video will make you forget about the economy, who's going to be president, and/or any personal issues you are currently facing. I only wish I had 1% of this couple's strength and am truly and surprisingly at a loss for words after watching the video and viewing their blogs and reading their words.

Pumpkin Patch

Jacob has already become quite the ladies man (much like his father back in college). He went with his two girlfriends--Lucy and Reece--to the pumpkin patch today.

As you can see, the trio was not quite sure what to think of the situation and they have quickly learned that Halloween can be a very scary time in one's life.

Also, you can see that Jacob has learned the art of pouting. It's amazing that he has only seen his Pops twice in his young life and already they pout alike!

I guess it should be fair for me to post some of the goings on in Jacob's life at this stage.

1.) He is cooing like crazy.

2.) He let out his first giggle last night.

3.) He still is not a very good sleeper.

4.) He is becoming intrigued with his hands, especially when it involves going in our mouth.

3 month milestone

Hard to believe, but Jacob is 3 months old today!!! Suzanne and I took a deep breath over the weekend and also took him out to the Lakefront for a good old fashioned photoshoot. I have many, many favorite pics, I will try to spread some out over the next few days since my posts have been lacking lately. In another milestone he slept in his crib for the first time last night. What a bittersweet moment that was! Enjoy...
