Mardi Gras Mambo! (Belated edition)

Tis the Lenten season, which means we have just wrapped up another week of Mardi Gras festivities. Still weird for a Mississippian, as school is out, and most families are on vacation--and yes, they get spring break too! I was hoping to post a picture of Jacob with ashes on his head from this morning but you cannot tell anything from the pictures. So instead, here are some shots from the weekend in New Orleans and Jacob's first Mardi Gras.

I have recently bragged about Suzanne's photography skills and think I'm pretty good myself, for an amateur. However, nothing really compares to a professional. We had these made last week in Covington. Heidi Bowers is her name and I have added her fantastic blog to our links on the right. Please give her props!



The challenge will be to pick the ones we like the best--without picking them all!

Playdate

It has been awhile since I have posted anything about Jacob's love life, but don't fret...he and girlfriend Reece are still interested in one another, as evidenced by the following flirtatious photos from a Friday playdate.

 

 

 

 

I don't know about you all, but I believe it's the slobber all over the shirt that sucks 'em in every time.

You're so vain....

....you probably think this blog is about you....well, I guess it is. So enough with my online "singing." Jacob has been looking at himself quite a bit while in his Exersaucer and I managed to capture it this morning.

 

 

Meanwhile, Suzanne got the shots below after a nap or an overnight sleep...not sure which one. She took 20 pictures and every single one of them were great, which made the choice I had to narrow down to VERY difficult. I guess you could say I really like these three!

 

 

 

Jacob the Plumber?

Could this be next year's big media sensation? 2008 was the year of Joe the Plumber...how about Jacob the Plumber in 2009? Or The Little Plumber Boy? I dearly hope everybody understands my joke. The hair is really coming in, as you can see, no surprise here, it looks like it will be darker than dark. For his six month checkup, Jacob weighed in at 16 pounds 9 ounces (I believe). I'll have to doublecheck with Suzanne on that but I think I'm right.

 

 

Another example of how time flies. The little cuddly infant of yesterday has gone! He's graduated to his high chair!!!
