Because the posts here are few and far between, I thought it would be great to highlight our oldest two boys to catch everyone up to speed on their lives and their personalities. We'll start with Jacob who will turn four years old next month.
I've contemplated some sort of flowery post about him but it just doesn't fit. Instead, I will post any sort of random fact about him that I can think of that is current.
Jacob's favorite cartoons right now are Jake and the Neverland Pirates (Disney) and Team Unizoomi (Nickelodeon). Saturday morning is a special treat when we watch The Doodlebops (CBS).
For breakfast, Jacob typically eats pancakes or french toast sticks. He will usually eat blueberries or strawberries if you put them in front of him.
Depending on the day, Jacob enjoys picking out his own clothes. He will typically try to go the t-shirt route but doesn't always win that battle :)
Jacob pretty much expects to be taken somewhere or have some activity pretty much every day. I say his mother has spoiled him with these activities (but I DEFINITELY mean that in a good way). "What are we doing tomorrow?" is usually a question that comes up daily. The question that I get the most is "You going to work tomorrow?"
Jacob is an outstanding big brother. He has especially been great with baby Ryan. He and Patrick certainly have sibling rivalry moments but they love each other very much. In fact, Jacob will tell you that Patrick is his best friend.
On that note, Jacob LOVES his family. All of us. There is nothing more exciting for him than when we are all together. He often requests it.
Jacob enjoys going out to restaurants on weekend nights. Much like the prior question about the next day's activity, Jacob wants to know "what restaurant we are going to" because the day really even gets going. Current favorites are Carretta's (Mexican), Times Grill (hamburgers), Zea's (???), and Albasha (Meditteranian). Oh, how could I forget Chik-fil-A. While at any of these restaurants, Jacob would prefer to order a Shirley Temple to drink.
Meantime, he is one of the pickiest eaters I've ever seen. Here's a list of what he likes: Chicken and french fries.
OK, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration but I'm close. Among the things he will not eat: hamburgers, mac and cheese, corn dogs, and BBQ. He just acquired a taste for pizza a couple of weeks ago. Obviously, veggies aren't at the top of his list.
Amongst his favorite movies: Finding Nemo and Toy Story, particularly the third installment. He also likes Little Einstein DVDs.
Jacob LOVES music. I must admit that I've gotten him turned onto some music an almost four year old should not be listening to and I've been in trouble for it. He loves electric guitars and he loves rapping! Combine the two and you've got a few bands that he really likes...I will not even name them because it's embarrassing and my fault! Of course, he couldn't like music without listening to the Beatles and he is a Beatles fan. No offense Gege, but I have turned on opera at least three times, and he laughs every time he hears it!
There is nothing more than Jacob loves than machinery. He has all kinds...lawn mowers, blowers, weedeaters, you name it. But there are two machines that take the cake and since this is an almost tell all post, I will reveal them. Jacob loves vacuuum cleaners and clocks, or as he calls them "tick tocks." In my personal opinion, Jacob's fascinations with these machines comes from the fact that he's scared of them...but he's also fascinated by them. He particulary likes to draw tick tocks. Thanks to his Nana, he is familiar with Big Ben. Recently, Jacob has become interested in building things. Give him some random items and he will build. He really likes his Legos. But the funny thing is that just about every one of his "buildings" are designed like Big Ben. You will always notice a hole...or something round (representing a tick tock) in the middle. He calls them towers.

Outside of that, he has been busy playing sports. He just completed a third round of swim lessons. He has also recently played Little Sluggers. If I had to guess, baseball would be his favorite sport, although again..nothing trumps the machines, the buildings, and the music.
Of course, much like his father, he also enjoys clowning around every once in a while!!!
And now you know just a little bit more about our first born, Jacob.

I love reading all about you, Jacob! You can do many things, and I'll bet you do them all very well. You are growing up way too fast, but just don't ever get too big to let Pops and Bebe love on you!! I am so glad you like music and baseball because that is just like your daddy.
One way that you are NOT like your daddy is your eating habits. When he was your age he said broccoli casserole was his favorite food. HA.
love and more love,
Bebe
Such a sweet post! I love it!
Loved reading about Jacob..My granddaughter's favorites---chicken and French fries, no matter where we eat--Italian, Mexican, Chinese---same order, always...She and Jacob would be great 'dining-out' buddies and cheap, too..Thanks for sharing Jacob with us...
