Pew-monia

It had to be one of the more interesting weekends in quite a long time...our entire family has been invaded by the "crud" and it just won't seem to go away. Jacob had it, then I had it, then Suzanne and finally Patrick, who's "crud" seemingly vaulted to another level on Friday night. We were at a restaurant when he began coughing uncontrollably, so much to the point that I had to take him outside. While outside, he vomited! Nevertheless, our dinner plans were cut short and Suzanne and I made the prompt decision to take him to a clinic open on Saturdays. I can't tell you how many times we've visited this clinic but it's been a bunch. And usually, you get the diagnosis and prescription and are on your merry way. No this time. After about 30 minutes in the doctor's office, we were informed that Patrick was potentially in the beginning stages of pneumonia. She had already called this into the nearby hospital, where he would be admitted and we should expect to stay overnight. That begun a rather interesting journey that has not subsided today. While in the middle of this post, I had to break to go comfort Patrick who was still coughing uncontrollably. He does not seem to be getting better but we were told it was a mild infection to begin with. He's on breathing treatments and a couple of other medications and hopefully he can get back to his old self. He is sure trying. But it's not been easy for anybody, especially him and his pregnant mother! Nevertheless, he was a real trooper in the hospital and continues to be that way at home.
