At last report, Jacob had still not gone "poo poo" on the potty. Well, that has changed! Jacob has been "poo poo" on the potty twice in the last three days. There's still a ways to go but he's getting there. Daddy has witnessed both of these memorable events.
Since Jacob is growing older, his mother is really hammering home the importance of giving up his "binkys." He only uses them at night when he sleeps, and it's been that way for a month or so. But she and I are trying to get him to give them up for good. He's not going down quietly. Jacob received Knuffle Bunny Free for Valentine's Day. This is a story about a little girl giving away her favorite toy to a crying infant on an airplane. These have been the last two conversations Jacob and I have had after reading Knuffle Bunny Free.
Friday night
DADDY: Jacob, do you think you'd want to give away your binkis?
JACOB: Not right now.
DADDY: When?
JACOB: Monday.
Sunday night
DADDY: Jacob, would you like to give anything to a sad baby?
JACOB: Binkys
DADDY: You'd give up your binkys?
JACOB: Patrick's binkys.
Good times.

I'm so proud of you,Jacob! Keep up the good work.As far as the binky conversation: I would say that you were pretty smart on that one also! Patrick might fight you tho so you'd better watch out.
love and more love,
Bebe
I think giving up his binky will be easier than one of mine giving up her thumb..That was awful, and now she has a thumb-sucker herself..Son had to give up his blanket to grandparents who were having empty nest...All so funny for some and tragic for others..Good luck!..
As for the 'poo poo'???..I was a stay at home mom for a while, and we had to SAVE IT for Dad to see...Oh, the things we do...
Love your conversations with Jacob...You are paving the way for him to feel so comfortable talking to you and telling you what is on his mind...Awesome life lesson..
