Welcome to the family, young man

This morning, we received the great news that Suzanne's sister, Renee, had successfully delivered a baby boy. I hope husband Bill doesn't mind me sharing his e-mail:


Friends and Family,

Renee and I are excited to announce the birth of our new baby boy William Hebert Clements at 9:00am this morning. The baby weighs 7 pounds and 12 ounces, and is 21 inches long. Mother and son are doing great. Many thanks for all the love and prayers.

Happy First Birthday, Big Little Man

Patrick's First Birthday Party

Patrick experienced his first birthday party on Saturday at our home. It is truly baffling where all the time has gone. Nevertheless, we celebrated with style with our family and a few close friends. Among those in attendance: Nana, Pawpaw, Bebe, Pops, Aunt Colie, KK and Johnny, The Mills, and the Parnells. The weather was perfect and the cake was not far behind.

The only baffling aspect of the day was the fact that Patrick was very delicate with his cake. We both truly felt that he would absolutely destroy it! Enjoy the pictures.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers out there! I think Jacob summed it up best yesterday when he told Suzanne, "Your my best friend." How appropriate! And at just the right time.



For the record, Jacob and Patrick have the best mother in the world (no offense!) And I am very fortunate to have a fabulous mother myself, not to mention a pretty doggone good mother-in-law.

Easter Egg-Stravaganza

It has been a long time since I've posted and for good reason. I have literally not been able to think about anything but the royal wedding and now....OK, I'm only slightly kidding although I'm surprised I even knew it was set for today. I truly did not know the NFL Draft was last night until looking at Sportscenter at about midnight last night. Must be other things go on in life?!?!?

That said, Jacob and Patrick had a great fun-filled Easter. The Easter Bunny certainly rolled out the red carpet for the boys and the weekend was topped off by a visit from Bebe and Pops.

I don't know how closely you saw Jacob's basket but that was only HALF FULL. Needless to say, some of that candy came with me to work.

Prior to Easter, Jacob had a great Egg hunt at school. It's always fun to visit and parents were allowed that day.

Also during Easter week, mommy helped Jacob dye eggs for the bunny. I'd say he did a pretty good job for the first try, huh???

Easing into Easter

It's been quite an interesting weekend around the Brister house. One of the major reasons this blog has been suspect in recent weeks (outside of the fact that PICTURES HAVEN'T BEEN LOADING) has been a major commitment of mine to a fundraiser hosted by my local Rotary club. It finished on Saturday, much to my relief.

Su, on top of this, has been sick for the past week. And she was a hostess for the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Parnell household this afternoon (wait, I guess that I too was a host!)

This was a fun event last year and this year didn't disappoint. Jacob has progressed with his egg hunting skills, to the point that friend Reece Richardson called him a "sneaky" hunter. I think that's a compliment! Here are some pictures of the event.

There are a lot of major events that I've missed covering in the last two weeks, including the baby shower of Suzanne's sister, Renee, the arrival of all the Hebert family, a trip to the beach with cousins Keira and Ethan, and breakfast with the Easter Bunny. I'll work backwards as fast as I can.
