Suzanne Sews!

I want to give Suzanne a small plug for some fantastic work that she has been doing. The "1" you see above is a small sampling of her work. It will be Jacob's bib for his 1 year birthday party. Below are some of Jacob's outfits. I will be out of town for a few days but plan on posting more when I get back. I don't know about you, but I think she should turn this into a business! My Granny will be proud.

Countdown-One Week

Both of us are still in disbelief that our little Jacob is about to be one year old.
Last weekend we took a mini-vacation to Houston. There's not much to show from the trip, other than Jacob is his new "big boy" car seat and the fact that he loves himself VERY much!

Big thanks to the Mills family (check out their blog; it's linked to ours) for the.....I don't know what that toy is called but it works! Their little girl learned to walk on it and Jacob loves it!

 

 

 

 

Time's Ticking

As usual, there is lots of catching up to do with pictures. Neither of us can believe that our little monkey is about to turn 1. This will happen in about three weeks! As you might imagine, there are lots of things going on in Jacob's busy life. He is learning all sorts of tricks. He has found the one "step" in our house; he also enjoys playing with door stops; he LOVES to read (a special thanks to cousin Courtney who read to him on a recent visit); he loves watching baseball with daddy as well as trying to walk. And you can see his hair filling out enough to make a mohawk. Things are fun these days but boy does the time fly. Oh well, every parent in the world has tried to tell us this!

 

 

 

 

 

Ba....ba....

I saved these two pictures from the beach for a very special day. For those who don't know, pops turns 60 today! He will be so very proud to know that his grandson consistantly says ball (or ba) and very much enjoys picking it up and throwing it! I must say he's already got a pretty good arm! And as of now, he's right handed but we know that can all change. Happy birthday pops! And a special wish to the Heberts, who celebrate an anniversary on this day.

Water Babies

Jacob has been participating in an event that I--his father--was scared to do up until about fifth grade. That is swimming! Suzanne enrolled him in a water babies class at our local gym, in which he goes every Thursday. These pictures were taken by the Richardson's, the parents of Jacob's girlfriend Reece. If you think I am joking, please take note of the big wet one he plants on her in the middle of the water. I have also included a shot of Mitchell Plauche so that you can see how he is progressing. I like calling him 'Lil Spike (notice his hair, even while wet!)

Beach Buzz

As usual, it has taken me much longer than it should to get pictures on the blog. We have been back from the beach since Sunday. Despite Jacob waking up between 2:30 and 4:30 every morning, it was a fun trip! Jacob is changing so much every second it seems. I am going to try to make an effort one night to actually update some of his "achievements." I have saved one picture for later this week to illustrate. Smartness

Video evidence that our son's brain is developing. He is starting to pick up more and more on what we're saying to him as evidenced by this video. The family is currently at the beach. I have been working but am headed there tomorrow. Do not feel too sorry for me; my choice, and it was probably the most productive work week in a long time! I look forward to posting pictures upon our return.
